Our aim

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women worldwide, with over 2 million new cases each year. ​ Despite advancements in early detection and treatment, 685,000 women died from breast cancer in 2020. ​ Precision medicine is essential to improve outcomes and reduce side effects, but predicting patient response to therapy is slow and uncertain, often taking months. ​ This trial-and-error approach can lead to ineffective treatments and lost time. ​ Hyperpolarized Magnetic Resonance (HypMR) imaging offers a solution by detecting non-responders to chemotherapy much earlier, allowing for timely adjustments in therapy. ​ The RESPONSE project, involving top academic, public, and industrial partners, aims to develop and commercialize HypMR, starting with breast cancer. ​
